Career Profile
Melinda is a dynamic, engaging facilitator with a diverse training background. After time spent in hospitality and with Qantas, she to moved into the area of human learning and development. Melinda has designed and facilitated programs at tertiary level in management and marketing, incorporating leading edge trends and approaches into her work. These programs included project and team based learning to develop specific, useable workplace skills in addition to the knowledge gained by participants.
She has also delivered training to facilitators and training in a variety of settings. Some of these include hospitality, business college/TAFE teachers, and rural health educators, and the programs have focused on developing participants design, facilitation and evaluation skills.
Selection of Assignments
State Rail
Assisted The Growth Connection over a 12 month period with the implementation of this program for all levels, from front-line staff to executives. Designed and facilitated programs relating to mentoring throughout the organisation, as well as involvement in specific projects such as the Aboriginal Revenue Protection Officers mentoring program. Facilitated the customer service and motivation workshops for the related Buddy program for the casual Olympic workers.
Study Group Australia
Designed and facilitated management and marketing programs for fee paying students, with a special focus on the diverse needs of international learners. After consultation with Martin College teachers and management, designed and delivered VETAB accredited facilitation training programs for new and experienced teachers. Evaluated and reported on the effectiveness of this training.
N.S.W. Department of Health
Designed and delivered training in facilitation skills and assessment for nurse educators, managers and other staff in rural NSW. Conducted individual workplace assessments to ensure application of learning and transfer of new skills.
Stadium Australia
Designed and conducted workshops for supervisors in training and coaching skills, focusing on the specific needs of the hospitality environment. Combined experiential team-based exercises, take-home assignments and on-the-job applications to provide an interactive and enjoyable voluntary learning experience.
